Express Entry proof of funds requirements have been officially updated by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) as of July 7, 2025. If you are applying for permanent residence under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) or the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), these new amounts apply to you.
To remain eligible, you must update your Express Entry profile with the new proof of funds by July 28, 2025.

❓ Who Needs to Show Proof of Funds?
You must provide Express Entry proof of funds if you are applying under:

Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)

Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
You do not need proof of funds if:

You are applying under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

OR you have a valid job offer in Canada and authorization to work
Still, IRCC recommends uploading proof of funds, as your profile may qualify under multiple streams.
📑 What Is Accepted as Express Entry Proof of Funds?
You must submit official letters from your financial institution, including:

Bank letterhead with address and contact

Your name and account numbers

Account open date, current balance, and 6-month average

List of debts (e.g., credit cards or loans)
🚫 Ineligible Proof:

Borrowed money

Real estate equity

Cryptocurrency
✅ Joint accounts are valid. If funds are only under a spouse’s name, you must prove access.
👪 How Is Family Size Calculated?
Your Express Entry proof of funds must cover:

Spouse or common-law partner

Dependent children (yours or your spouse’s)

Any dependent child of a dependent child
Even if they’re not accompanying you or are already Canadian citizens/PRs, they must be counted.
